Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data YourCover collects when you join our pre-launch waitlist, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. YourCover is a pre-launch product and this policy covers the waitlist only. When the product launches, a fuller privacy policy will cover the service itself.
Who we are
YourCover is the data controller for the waitlist described here. We are pre-incorporation, so there is no registered company number yet. You can reach us any time at hello@yourcover.app.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your email address;
- which side of the marketplace you are interested in (worker, venue or operator);
- your city and, optionally, the first part of your postcode, so we know where to launch first;
- a venue or company name, if you sign up as a venue or operator;
- limited technical information (IP address, browser user agent and referring page) that we use only to prevent spam and abuse of the form.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics. Analytics stays off until you accept.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use your details to confirm your email, keep you on the waitlist, tell you when we launch near you, and let you refer other people if you choose to. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist and confirming your email, and which you can withdraw at any time. For the technical anti-abuse data, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam.
Double opt-in
After you sign up we send one email asking you to confirm your address. You are only added to the confirmed waitlist once you click that link. If you do not confirm, your details are removed automatically.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the waitlist, acting as our processors:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts our systems and delivers our email (through Amazon SES);
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, and only if you accept analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until we launch in your area and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. Unconfirmed sign-ups are removed automatically.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email hello@yourcover.app.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
