Trust & safety
Trust is the product.
Anyone can start a group chat. What a group chat cannot guarantee is that the person replying is who they say they are, can do the job, and will turn up. That guarantee is the whole point of YourCover.
Verification
What we check before anyone works a shift
Photo ID
A government photo ID, matched to the person, so a name on a screen is a real, identifiable individual.
Right to work
A right-to-work check for everyone, so venues can hire with confidence and workers are covered.
Experience and CV
The roles someone has worked, so venues can match the right person to the shift.
SIA licence
For door supervisors and security roles, we verify the SIA licence is valid and current before those shifts can be taken.
Ratings
Public, two-way and permanent. Reputation follows everyone, both the worker and the venue.
High-stakes roles
Door and security, the worked example
Get a bar shift wrong and the round is slow. Get a door wrong and it is a safety and licensing risk. That is exactly where a group chat falls down and where verification earns its keep.
For door and security roles we verify a valid SIA licence on top of ID and right to work, and the public rating means a supervisor who does not turn up, or does the job badly, carries that with them.
Data and privacy
Your documents stay yours
We collect verification documents to do the checks above and nothing more. Venues see that you are verified, your experience and your rating, not your private documents. Read the detail in our privacy policy
Questions
How verification and ratings work
How do you verify SIA licences?
We check the licence against the SIA's public register and confirm it is valid and current for the role, before any door or security shift can be taken.
What happens if someone does not show?
A no-show hurts the worker's public rating, which every future venue can see. Reputation is the incentive to turn up, and it runs both ways.
Can ratings be faked?
Ratings come only from real, completed shifts between a verified worker and a verified venue, so there is no way to post a review for a shift that did not happen.
Who sees my documents?
Your ID and right-to-work documents are used for verification only and are not shared with venues. Venues see that you are verified, plus your experience and rating.
